Paper conservator post Ref: NHM/PC/EB Natural History Museum Library and Information Services UKP25,000 - UKP30,000 p.a. according to experience Permanent, Full-Time An experienced and creatively minded paper conservator is required to lead and manage the Museum's strategy for preserving and conserving its pre-eminent Library and Archives Collection. Working closely with the Collection Management Librarian and other specialist staff, you will help set and maintain collection care standards through policy development and practical training. You will advise on and carry out appropriate conservation activities and manage the work of freelance conservators and related specialists. You will also participate in a busy programme of loans to exhibitions. You will have at least five years post-qualification experience, ideally within a library, archive or museum environment. In addition to possessing excellent professional skills, you will be a good communicator and enjoy training and developing others in good preservation and handling practice. The post requires leadership and also empathy with the needs of the many different users whose work relies on the collections.
