The purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and
treatment of objects as part of the Museum's On the Case Project to
upgrade the WW1 and WW2 galleries, primarily from the collection of
the Department of Exhibits and Firearms. Installed approximately 10
years ago the WW1 and WW2 galleries are now in urgent need of
attention.

Whist specialising in paper based collections the post holder will
be able undertake the tasks identified below for all media held by
the Museum.

Whilst based principally in London, the post holder will also
co-ordinate IWM's facsimile project. This project will review,
assess and replace paper-based items currently on display at all
branches of the Museum with suitable facsimiles. This work will form
an important part of IWM's on-going Review of Paper Collections

Closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 12 May 2006
Interviews are likely to take place during the week commencing 22
May 2006
