    collection care
Lamport Hall / Hamilton Kerr Institute

Lamport Hall and the Hamilton Kerr Institute
<URL:http://www.lamporthall.co.uk> offer a twelve-month internship
for a recently qualified conservator of paintings. It is expected
that the starting date will be September 2006. The first three
months of the internship will normally be spent at the Hamilton Kerr
Institute and the remainder at Lamport Hall. The intern will work
for the Director of the Lamport Hall Trust and will carry out
conservation treatments on the Hall's collection of paintings under
the supervision of the Hamilton Kerr Institute. There is a studio
at the Hall, although the intern will be able to use the facilities
of the Hamilton Kerr Institute when necessary. The internship will
be an opportunity to learn about the day-to-day care of a country
house paintings collection and its particular conservation problems
and priorities.

The internship will be funded by Lamport Hall and the Hamilton Kerr
Institute. In addition, self-contained accommodation will be
provided whilst at Lamport Hall.

Applications including the addresses of two referees and requests
