Recovery of Records after Gulf Coast Hurricanes

On Tuesday, April 25, 2006. 10:45 a.m. until noon, in the Auditorium
of the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in
College Park, Maryland, there will be a presentation on "NARA's
'First Preserver' Role: Response and Recovery of Records in the
Aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita".  Howard Lowell, Deputy
Assistant Archivist for Records Services, will explain NARA's role
as "First Preserver" and provide an overview of NARA's involvement
in the recovery process.  Following, Hilary Kaplan and Kathy Ludwig,
Senior Conservators, will speak on the recovery of records in the
Orleans Parish.  Directions to the meeting place as well as security
