Call for Papers
Plastics: Looking at the future and learning from the past
Victoria and Albert Museum, London
24-25 May 2007

This is a  two day conference covering the various issues raised by
the instability of plastic materials. The purpose of this conference
will be to bring together an international group of professionals
including conservators,  curators, collectors, designers,
scientists, and artists.  The conference will present a broad view
of the issues involved in this complex area including:

Scientific investigation

    Conservation of plastic--is it possible?
    Collection--Does the prospect of a shorter lifetime influence
        collecting decisions and policies?
    Artists' intent

Speakers are invited to submit proposals for papers and posters that
address any of the areas outlined above.
