The Science Museum Object Conservator (6 month contract- temporary cover) UKP22, 970 per annum pro rata The Science Museum is seeking an experienced, flexible and enthusiastic object conservator to support the Museum's extensive loan and exhibition programme. The post is offered as a 6 month contract as temporary cover for staff secondment. The successful candidate will be based primarily at Blythe House, the Science Museum's storage facility at Olympia but will also be expected to work at the Science Museum in South Kensington when required. Applicants must have a relevant object conservation qualification (first degree) or equivalent practical experience and knowledge. They must have good teamworking skills, have a systematic approach to work planning and be able to work independently on projects with minimal supervision. Candidates should have good IT skills and training will be offered on the collections database (Mimsy XG) if required. The applicant must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
