We seek an organised, motivated conservator with creative and
flexible problem solving skills to carry out preventive and remedial
conservation of works on paper from across all curatorial
departments of the Museums and Art Gallery.  Special focus is likely
to be on preparation of exhibits for the Heritage Lottery Funded,
new Museum of Bristol.

You will work with a wide variety of museum staff and outside
specialists and must enjoy using your communication skills to forge
constructive relationships with them all.  You must also welcome the
responsibility of managing your own time and devising your own
solutions to conservation problems.

You will have a degree from a recognised conservation training
programme, or similar experience, and ideally two to three years
post training experience. Experience within a museum work
environment will be seen as an advantage.

As Assistant Conservator you will be part of a growing and lively
conservation department which values colleagues with a co-operative
and positive outlook.

This post is offered as a fixed term contract to 31 March 2008.
