Mellon Conservator of Photographic Materials Weissman Preservation Center Harvard University Library Grade: 056 Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and working under the direction of the Senior Photograph Conservator in the Weissman Preservation Center, the Mellon Conservator of Photographic Materials participates in a 5-year project to conserve, catalog, and digitize photographs from the Harvard University collections. This is a one-year appointment with high probability of renewal. The Photograph Conservator examines, specifies treatments for, and treats a broad range of historic and contemporary photographic materials, including but not limited to, negatives and prints on paper, metal, glass or film supports. Education, experience, skills: Graduate degree in photograph conservation or paper conservation with emphasis in photographic materials. A minimum of two years of conservation experience, with demonstrated excellence performing complex treatments involving a wide range of object types.
