Etherington Conservation Service-Midwest is looking for a book
conservator with a strong record of experience in treating a wide
range of library materials.  The successful candidate will also have
a strong record of supervising other conservators and/or
technicians.  The conservator will be responsible for the daily
operations of all conservation functions.  These functions include
the repair and restoration of rare or unique volumes, collections
conservation, construction of protective enclosures,
deacidification, and encapsulation.  Consults regularly with the
Director of Preservation in planning, staffing, evaluating,
organizing, motivating, directing and controlling manufacturing
functions.

Etherington Conservation Services-Midwest (formerly the Heckman
Bindery Conservation Laboratory) is a rapidly growing and dynamic
conservation facility.  Candidates are sought who are interested in
growing a conservation program and developing with the program.
Strong consideration will be given to widely experienced
conservation assistants or technicians who want to advance into the
professional conservator ranks.
