Desalination of dried wood

My failing brain keeps telling me that somewhere, somewhen, I read
references to research into the removal of soluble salts from dried
wood, without the use of water--perhaps in supercritical fluids?  If
anyone can point me in the right direction to find this research, I
would appreciate it.
