This course is run independently by expert practitioner Anita
Chowdry, with the support of the V&A research department and the
department of Asia. It is intended to provide a grounding in
workshop practice in the royal ateliers of the subcontinent, and
experience of handling and understanding the properties of authentic
pigments and materials. The course includes the opportunity for a
close inspection of royal paintings in the V&A collection. It is
aimed at conservators, artists and craftspeople, academics and
anyone who wishes to gain a deeper understanding of the genre. All
materials required, as well as printed resources, are provided as
part of the course. Numbers attending will be limited to fifteen.
