The Society for the Preservation of Natural History Collections and
the Natural Science Collections Alliance will hold a joint annual
meeting in Albuquerque, New Mexico, May 23-27, 2006 at the Hotel
Albuquerque at Old Town, in the heart of Albuquerque's historical
district and just off Route 66. "The Road to Productive
Partnerships" theme will focus on collaborations of scientific
collections with partners such as government agencies, local and
international agencies, and non-profit groups. Your co-hosts will
be the University of New Mexico Museum of Southwestern Biology and
the U.S. Geological Survey Arid Lands Field Station.

In addition to invited speakers and oral and poster presentations,
our program will feature a series of special sessions with relevant
and wide-ranging topics of interest for today's museum professional.
A series of workshops will be offered on May 27 and will highlight
recent advances in georeferencing, digital imaging, data sharing,
and bioinformatics. Several pre-meeting full-day and half-day field
trips will be available, as well as museum tours on the University
of New Mexico campus, a reception and banquet with live music, Trade
Show, and unsurpassed networking opportunities.

Meeting registration will open in January, but you can begin making
your hotel reservations now. See the "hotel information" link at the
web site for details about the Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town.
