Historic Mount Vernon seeks experienced professional to serve as
objects conservator beginning February 2006.

Knowledge of three-dimensional objects essential.  Carry out
preventive conservation and treatments.  Coordinate work of outside
contract conservators, as needed.  Play key role in preparation for
Fall 2006 opening of new museum and education center.  Solid
knowledge of conservation and collections care practices.  Advanced
degree from a recognized conservation program highly preferred, with
at least three years' museum experience.  Flexibility and ability to
work beyond normal hours to meet deadlines.  Submit resume' and
