Cincinnati Art Museum

The Cincinnati Art Museum is seeking applicants for the position of
Assistant/Associate Conservator of Objects. Working under the
direction of the Chief Conservator, the Assistant Conservator of
Objects will have responsibility for the preservation and care of
the Museum's permanent collection, works of art on loan to the
Museum, and works of art included in temporary exhibitions.  This
position will work in collaboration with other Museum staff to
devise and implement strategies and procedures for conservation.

Candidates should have a specialization in general objects
conservation, as well as a demonstrated knowledge of the diverse
factors pertaining to the preservation of works of art from a range
of categories such as: sculpture, ethnographic materials, objects of
antiquity and decorative arts. This includes objects of both organic
and inorganic composition, including metal, wood, stone, ceramic,
glass, bone and other materials. Master's Degree from recognized art
conservation program and previous experience as a museum conservator
is preferred. Must possess a demonstrated knowledge of diverse
factors that influence the preservation of works of art and the
ability to work collaboratively with trustees, donors, volunteers
and staff.
