Fixed term contract (11 months)
UKP18,537 pa pro rata

We are looking for a qualified conservator who has an interest in
working in a large conservation group in a national museum. There is
a demanding loans and exhibitions programme and a growing emphasis
on the conservation of the reserve collections. You must demonstrate
in your application that you have suitable qualifications for the
relevant post and practical experience following graduation is
desirable. You must be able to work as part of small team, yet be
able to work independently. Good work flow planning skills are
desirable. You will be required to work closely with other
professionals within the Museum, therefore good communications
skills are essential.

The successful candidate will assist with the practical conservation
of a wide range of objects made from a large variety of organic
materials. The main focus will be historical and modern material
culture from the Museum's collections and it is expected that many
of the objects will be composite in nature. Skills in the
conservation of textiles and/or archaeological organic materials are
also desirable.
