Junior/Assistant Conservator

    Leading conservation firm is currently seeking a
    junior/assistant conservator. The position would include
    assisting senior conservators, conservators and project managers
    with administration and treatment documentation of conservation
    projects, as well as some hands-on work, as needed. The ideal
    candidate will have 2+ years of experience in preservation or a
    related field, some hands-on experience doing conservation
    treatments and/or construction, strong computer skills,
    especially graphic design, digital photo manipulation and page
    layout, and knowledge of multiple computer programs. AutoCAD
    skills, fine arts talents, materials testing and analysis
    background all a plus. Must be organized, efficient, level
    headed and capable of working on many projects at once. Must
    work well alone or with others, and have good spoken and written
    communication skills. Must also be able and willing to lift
    heavy objects, and work with chemicals, power tools, etc. as
    required. A degree in architecture, historic preservation or art
    conservation preferred.

Conservator / Project Manager

    Leading conservation firm is currently looking for a
    conservator/project manager. The ideal candidate will have 5+
    years of experience in the preservation field, a minimum of 2 to
    3 years experience in project management, some hands-on
    experience doing conservation treatments and/or construction,
    knowledge and understanding of construction phasing and
    documentation (CDs, contracts, insurance, wage scales, etc.),
    estimating and proposals, knowledge of multiple computer
    programs, AIC Professional Associate status or eligible and
    willing to apply. AutoCad skills, fine arts talents, materials
    testing and analysis background a plus. Must be organized,
    efficient, level headed and capable of working on many projects
    at once. Must work well alone or with others, and have good
    spoken and written communication skills. Must also be able and
    willing to lift heavy objects, and work with chemicals, power
    tools, etc. as required. A degree in architecture, historic
    preservation or art conservation preferred.

We have offices located in Santa Fe, NM and Washington, DC, a studio
and lab in District Heights, MD, and worksites throughout the US and
the Caribbean. We work on architectural elements, fountains,
monuments, outdoor sculpture, large objects and industrial artifacts
and are currently working on two Saturn V rockets and significant
artifacts from Florida to Montana. Must be willing to relocate to
the DC area and to travel for projects. Please respond with cover
