Conservation Technician - Treatments (2) Archives of Ontario 2 Temporary Assignments for 5 months Special Project Ministry: Government Services Salary Range:$750 to $841 per week Posting Date: 7 October 2005 Closing Date: 24 October 2005 Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Area of search: Open Exciting opportunities exist with the Archives of Ontario to work in a team environment as special project conservation technicians. You will: undertake conservation treatments on photographs, documentary art, cartographic/textual records; prepare motion picture film for reformatting/document conditions before and after treatment. Qualifications: Knowledge of conservation, preservation management, archival practices, chemical/physical properties of archival materials, historical fabrication; experience creating written/photographic documentation, using technical equipment (humidity chamber, encapsulator, pH meter); PC/software proficiency; familiarity with WHMIS; good interpersonal, communication skills; knowledge of the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property's code of ethics.
