Chief Furniture Conservator

    The Chicago Conservation Center is expanding its Furniture
    Department and is seeking a Chief Furniture Conservator to
    manage the daily treatment schedule and operations of The
    Center's department. The successful candidate will oversee a
    Senior Furniture Conservator as well as an Associate Furniture
    Conservator.

    The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in all
    aspects of the structural stabilization of historic furniture,
    original surface recovery, de-restoration and the preservation
    of original surfaces. In addition to excellent woodworking
    skills, candidate must possess strong documentation and
    communication skills.

    A competitive benefits package and salary of $60,000 to $90,000,
    based on qualifications and experience, are offered. The Chicago

Associate Furniture Conservator

    The Chicago Conservation Center is expanding its Furniture
    Department and is seeking an Associate Furniture Conservator to
    assist in the daily treatment schedule and operations of The
    Center's department. The successful candidate will work in a
    department of three conservators and will report to a Chief
    Furniture Conservator.

    The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in all
    aspects of the structural stabilization of historic furniture,
    original surface recovery, de-restoration and the preservation
    of original surfaces. In addition to excellent woodworking
    skills, candidate must possess strong documentation and
    communication skills.

    A competitive benefits package and salary of $35,000 - $45,000,
    based on qualifications and experience, are offered.

The Chicago Conservation Center

years ago and currently has a staff of 22 Conservators, Framers, Art
Handlers and Administrative support staff. Departments include
Paintings, Works of Art on Paper, Frames and Gilded Objects,
Furniture, Textiles, Murals, Disaster Response, Custom Framing,
Shipping and Installation. Clients include a prestigious list of
private collectors, museums, galleries and corporate collections.
The Center occupies a full-floor open-plan loft space with 14,000
