Subject: Workshop on human remains
The Palaeontology Conservation Unit (PCU) will be holding a small one-day workshop on human remains conservation on 1 December 2005 at the Natural History Museum. The workshop will bring together conservators who actively work on the conservation of human remains to discuss their practical. Topics covered will environmental parameters, cleaning, consolidation, remedial techniques, storage materials and design. Six guest speakers have been invited from museums around the country to relate their practical experiences of remedial and preventive care of human remains. These will be followed by group discussions regarding the practical issues of care.
