Hayle Mill

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister has granted Planning
Permission and Listed Building Consent to P J Livesey Country Homes
(Southern) Ltd for the restoration and conversion of Hayle Mill to
housing.

Hayle Mill produced handmade paper from 1808 until 1987 when it
ceased to be viable. We have struggled to get permission for
restoration and conversion to a new use for over 18 years during
which time the Mill has been damaged by thieves, vandals and
arsonists.

The scheme involves restoration of the historic buildings, removal
of intrusive modern buildings, conversion of the mill buildings to
private residences within a small number of new housing units plus a
heritage centre and landscape enhancement and management.

The planning application received a lot of support from conservators
and others concerned with cultural heritage from all over the world
and we are very grateful for this.

you can find it at:

the Web at present.
