The Washington Conservation Guild presents the first meeting of their 2005/2006 season, to be held on Thursday October 6, 2005. The meeting will be held at the Charles Sumner School Museum at 1201 17th St NW, Washington DC (17th and M Streets NW). Located near the Farragut North Metro on the Red line. The meeting will begin with a reception at 5pm, followed by a lecture at 5:30 "Restoring Damaged Landmarks: a Nineteeth Century Approach" describing Adolf Cluss and his renovation projects at the Smithsonian "Castle" and the Patent Office building. The lecture will be given by Dr. Cynthia R. Field, Chair of Architectural History and Historical Preservation at the Smithsonian Institution.
