RBMS Curators and Conservators Discussion Group

The Curators and Conservators Discussion Group will meet Sunday,
June 26, 2005 from 9:30-11 am in the Hilton, Pullman Boardroom.

Our discussion topic will be "Risk Management for Special
Collections". We will open the floor to a discussion on the variety
of risk management options for your collections including disaster
planning, insurance, establishing values for unique and
irreplaceable materials, and working with your administration to get
what you need.  Present at the discussion will be both Special
Collections Librarians who have recently undertaken an insurance
appraisal of portions of their collection, as well as authors of the
new book "Risk and Insurance Management Manual for Libraries"
(available this month through ALA publications) who will give a
brief introduction to the topic.
