The Cultural Resource Management Program at the University of
Victoria is pleased to offer the following immersion and distance
education courses and workshops for professionals, volunteers and
board members in museums, art galleries, cultural institutions,
heritage sites and related organizations:

Distance Courses

    Our distance learning courses enable you to develop important
    knowledge and skills in the places and at the times best suited
    to your learning needs. Innovative print and electronic teaching
    resources and interactive communications create stimulating
    learning experiences. The following is a listing of upcoming
    distance education courses:

        Building Community Relationships with Elizabeth Kidd
        September 12, to December 16, 2005

        Public Programming with Candace Matelic
        September 19, 2005 to January 15, 2006

        Museum Principles and Practices: Creating and Preserving
        September 19, 2005 to December 20, 2006

        Principles and Practices in Heritage Conservation
        September 19, 2005 to December 20, 2006

Immersion Courses

    On-campus, six-day immersion courses bring together small groups
    for intensive and stimulating learning experiences away from the
    workplace. The following is a listing of our upcoming immersion

        Studies in Building Conservation: Wood: Structure and
        Elements with Sam Harris
        September 12 to 17, 2005

        Performance Measures with Paul Richard and Larry Lad
        October 17 to 22, 2005

        Marketing and Development in Cultural Organizations with
        Rise Paquette
        October 31 to November 5, 2005

        Collections Management with Richard Gerrard
        November 14 to 19, 2005


    Non-credit workshops are offered from time to time to bring
    together museum professionals for short interactive sessions.
    Most non-credit workshops are three days in length.

    Museums and Spirituality with Elaine Heumann Gurian
    September 15 to 17, 2005
