Poggio Civitate
Tuscany
June-July, 2005

A conservator experienced working with archaeological materials is
needed to oversee finds processing and conservation at the early
Etruscan site of Poggio Civitate in central Tuscany, Italy, from
June 13-July 30, 2005. The excavation is run as an undergraduate
field school <URL:http://ase.tufts.edu/archaeology/murlo/> and the
conservator's main duties involve carrying out and teaching basic
techniques of archaeological conservation. This includes handling
and treatment of bulk materials (ceramics and animal bones) and
special finds (primarily ceramic, bone, antler, ivory, bronze, iron
and stone).

The conservator will also keep work records and produce an
end-of-season report. The excavation will provide the room, board,
travel expenses and a stipend. If interested, please e-mail your
curriculum vitae with a statement of interest and, if possible,
