Workshop on Managing Photographic Collections

Pre-Conference workshops at the Society of Southwest Archivists
annual meeting

Management of Photographic Collections:  This workshop will be
taught by Laurie Baty and Martha Mahard- the same team who teach the
workshop for SAA. The two day workshop (May 25 and May 26) will help
you administer photographic collections effectively.  Topics include
identification and dating of materials, recognizing special problems
of graphic materials, gaining control of large quantities of
materials, and identifying procedures for arrangement and
description, preservation, reference, and access. This workshop will
not specifically address digitization and copyright issues.
(Registraiton includes a pair of white gloves and a microscope,
which you will take with you.) Space is limited, and workshop is
subject to cancellation pending enough registrants.  Registration
must be postmarked by April 15.  Cost:  SSA members $185;
non-members $200; students $180.  All fees increase by $25 after
April 15.
