Series of Conservation Workshops
Puebla, Mexico

Join Heritage Conservation Network
<URL:> and Pro Centro Zona
Monumental and an international team of experts working on a
materials conservation pilot project in the World Heritage City of
Puebla, Mexico April 17-23, 2005 or April 24-30, 2005. Participants
will undertake crucial documentation and assessment work related to
the conservation of 18th century frescos and Talavera tiles that
decorate the buildings of the Puebla's historic core.

The workshop is expected to draw a mixture of students, conservation
professionals and interested lay persons. Any necessary training
will be provided; the cost of attending this hands-on workshop is
$950/week; participants may attend one or two weeks.

The April workshop is the first in a series Heritage Conservation
Network has developed in partnership with Pro Centro Zona Monumental
to support revitalization efforts in the historic center of Puebla,
Mexico, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The series will bring
conservationists to the city to do restoration work at some of the
buildings and, more importantly, establish a demonstration project
to encourage additional restoration work.

Pro Centro is a non-profit agency working to preserve and revitalize
the historic district of Puebla, and Heritage Conservation Network,
also a non-profit organization, works around the world preserving
architectural heritage. For more information about HCN or the
