The theme for this year's annual all-day meeting is
"Delivering Collection Care Nationwide".

The last few years have seen radical changes in the way that
government support is delivered to cultural institutions in the
regions. In England, substantial funds have been directed to
regional museums through Renaissance in the Regions and Designation.
At the same time the nature of the support offered by Regional MLAs
has changed. The aim of the day is to discuss how the current
arrangements are affecting Collections Care and how collections care
is supported in the rest of the country.

The morning session is will look at the impact of the Renaissance in
the Regions programme.  It will begin with an overview of this
programme to re-invigorate the non-national museums in the English
Regions and will be followed by presentations on important
collections care initiatives being made by all three of the Phase 1
Hubs.  Phase 1 Hubs are those that received the bulk of the funding
following the Government's 2002 Spending Review.

The afternoon session will look at what is happening in Scotland and
Wales, in the English heritage agencies such as English Heritage,
Historic Royal Palaces and the National Trust, and in the Archive
and Library sector. Followed by discussion

Booking and charges: The meeting is free to members of the CCF.
Non-members are welcome to attend the day (though not the AGM) but
will be charged UKP25.00 (this will entitle them to membership for
2005). The meeting will commence at 10.45 am.  Tea and coffee will
be available from 10.00 am.

Lunch will be provided at a cost of UKP5.00. Lunch must be booked
and paid for in advance.

Getting there: The nearest Underground station is Pimlico (Victoria
Line) The Clore Auditorium is situated in the Clore wing, to the
right of the main Tate Britain building (as you face the front).
