The Horniman Museum <URL:http://www.horniman.ac.uk> is offering an
excellent opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic objects
conservator(s) to work for two months in the Collections
Conservation and Care Section. The work will concentrate on
conserving and preparing objects for a new temporary exhibition on
the Americas 'From Amazon to Caribbean' opening in October 2005.
This exhibition showcases the cultures of the Amerindians of
mainland South America and the Caribbean.

The Collections Conservation and Care Section is responsible for the
care of the Museum's collections of Anthropology, Musical
instruments and Natural History. The collections are used to
illustrate the world we live in - our cultures, arts, crafts, music
and natural environment. The Museum is set in sixteen acres of
beautiful gardens in Forest Hill, South East London

Applicants should have a minimum of two years' post qualification,
practical experience in the care, documentation and treatment of a
wide-range of organic materials and objects in a museum environment.
You must be either an EU national or hold a current permit that will
enable you to work in the UK. The post is available from February
2005. There is a possibility to job share.
