The Frank Lloyd Wright Preservation Trust seeks a Summer 2005
graduate-level intern for the Robie House, located in Chicago, IL.
General oversight and coordination of internship is provided by the
Director of Restoration/Architect and assisted by the Preservation
and Maintenance Specialist. The internship is unpaid, however, staff
will work with schools to provide course credit, when possible, and
architectural students will receive hours toward licensing.

Potential Projects

    1.  Documentation: Create and modify existing restoration
        construction drawings (AutoCAD).

    2.  Assessment: Perform condition and integrity survey for
        building components (wood laylights, plaster, woodwork, art
        glass, and exterior problem conditions).

    3.  Preservation maintenance: clean/conserve original
        architectural features.

Intern must be enrolled in a graduate-level architecture, historic
preservation, or similar program. Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft
Office applications, Adobe Photoshop, and FilemakerPro. Must
demonstrate familiarity with preservation theory, ability to survey
conditions, respect for building material integrity, and dexterity
with original features.
