Subject: Microwave fumigation
I am currently researching the possibility to use microwave heat as a way to eradicate insects in wooden objects. Many publications in this area are very old, related to only one species (mainly termites) or do not consider the aspect of museum objects. There are even more publications that lack any scientific approach and evidence. Has anyone used microwaves on wooden objects? I have found a few good publications but would appreciate any information on current or past research, personal experience, empirical data and known publications.
