3rd International Conference on the
Application of Raman Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology
Paris, France
August 31 - September 3, 2005
<URL:http://www.ladir.cnrs.fr/ArtRaman2005/>

Topics: The International Conference on the Application of Raman
Spectroscopy in Art and Archaeology welcomes all contributions on
the application of Raman spectroscopy in the fields of art-history,
history, archaeology, conservation and restoration, museology, etc.

The conference will be divided into different non-parallel sessions
with a large place for poster presentation. A non-limitative list of
some key-topics will be:

    * Development of Raman instrumentation for the non-destructive
        analysis of art

    * Approaches dealing with Raman imaging and spectral mapping

    * New tools for data-handling and interpretation in Raman
        spectroscopy

    * Vibrational spectroscopy (Raman and Infra-Red) in art and
        archaeology.

    * Multi-method approaches: Raman spectroscopy combined with
        other techniques

    * Raman analysis of painted artefacts: pigment identification
        on manuscripts, paintings, statues, etc.

    * Raman spectroscopy of biological materials in art and
        archaeology: resins, fibers, etc.

    * Investigation of gemstones, stones, glass, ceramics.

    * Raman analysis of paper, ink, dyes

Deadline for abstract submission is 25 March 2005.
