Manager Amigos Imaging and Preservation Service Position Responsibilities: Plan and administer the activities of the Amigos Imaging and Preservation Service (IPS) under guidelines established by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), the IPS Advisory Council, and Director of Special Projects. Activities include supervision of staff, developing and executing market strategies, training and coordination of individuals who conduct training classes having to do with preservation and disaster preparedness, seeking grants and related funding to support the unit, act as liaison with the state archives in the Amigos five-state operating region, and represent Amigos at local, regional, and national activities. Work Schedule: Regular business hours Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Location: Dallas area Position Requirements Education: Required: M.L.S. from an ALA accredited library school or certificate in archival administration required. Desirable: certificate in preservation administration. Experience Required: minimum of five years' professional experience as manager of a complex program, including knowledge and experience in preservation and digital imaging programs for libraries and other cultural institutions. Desirable: experience in grant writing and administration. Skills: Demonstrated planning, coordinating, writing, speaking skills; competence as an instructor and consultant. Traits: Ability to work well under pressure to meet schedules and goals; well organized and open to new ideas and different ways of doing things; flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances; excellent people and listening skills for building relationships with libraries, museums, and related organizations throughout the region. Other: Must have a valid Texas drivers license, a reliable automobile and state-required minimum car insurance. Travel: Approximately 40% of a normal work week, some weekends. Compensation: $45,000 to $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications, plus benefits.
