Historic Royal Palaces is the registered charity responsible for
conserving, maintaining and presenting some of the world's most
famous heritage sites, including HM Tower of London, Hampton Court
Palace, Kensington Palace State Apartments, Kew Palace and the
Banqueting House, Whitehall.

As a forward thinking and high-profile organisation, we can offer an
experienced conservation specialist a unique challenge: to help us
to maintain some of the world's finest collections and decorative
interiors from the 16th to the 19th Centuries. This new role will
work across five palaces and call for an ambitious professional who
can operate both at a strategic and detailed level, creating the
policies, procedures and technical specifications that will drive
our long-term conservation plans.

An expert in treatment conservation, you will manage a team of
seventeen professional conservators to deliver the highest standard
treatment programme with a strong focus on textiles, as well as
commissioning the treatment of non-textile objects and architectural
features. This post has an emphasis on delivering innovative
conservation treatments, managing a studio facility and training
conservators. We are looking for someone who can work with our
science and preventive teams and external partners to deliver a
comprehensive conservation programme.

We are looking for a graduate with a recognised qualification or
equivalent and at least ten years' relevant experience. The proven
ability to devise complex conservation programmes in textile
treatment work is essential, together with exceptional people
management and communication skills.
