Sir Basil Spence Archive Project
Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland

Applications are invited for four fixed term appointments for three
years within the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical
Monuments of Scotland on the Sir Basil Spence Archive Project team,
supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund. The Project aims to
catalogue and conserve the collection of architect Sir Basil Spence
(1907-1976) and to run an education and exhibition programme in
partnership with the National Galleries of Scotland and The
Lighthouse, Scotland's Centre for Architecture Design and the City.

The Senior Conservator post will spend 50% of time on the Project
and the remaining 50% of time providing guidance on all aspects of
conservation of the RCAHMS Collections, including contributing to
the planning of new premises. Applicants for all posts, except that
of Conservation Assistant, should have a qualification in the
conservation of archives and/or works of art on paper. Applicants
for the senior post should hold accredited status.
