Conservator Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbuettel The Herzog August Bibliothek Wolfenbuettel Germany is seeking as of today a Conservator (Salary Vb BAT). The post will be limited to 31 December 2005 (with possible continuation). Qualifications: Degree from a recognised graduate conservation training program, or equivalent formalised advanced training, or relevant experience in the conservation of library materials. Responsibilities: The position at the Herzog August Bibliothek involves the physical care, preservation and conservation treatment of manuscripts, rare books or works of art on paper. The candidate should be able to solve particularly difficult conservation tasks independently, to develop appropriate technical solutions and to document condition and treatment in writing and by illustrations. The qualification and willingness for independent and solely responsible working is expected. Knowledge in the common investigation and documentation methods and their realisation are desirable. Sense of responsibility, good communication skills as well as familiarity with IT applications and a working knowledge of German is essential. The post is also suitable for part-time work.
