Developing Technical Tendering Specifications for Large Technology and Cultural Objects UKIC Metals Section Conference Wednesday 16th March 2005 Science Museum, London The conference will create a much needed opportunity to discuss and debate the development of technical specifications for tendering purposes when dealing with large technology and other cultural objects. This topic will be of particular interest to commissioners and contractors who are involved in developing or responding to technical specifications. Interested parties include conservators, architects, quantity surveyors, museums managers and project funders. The programme will include presentations that illustrate the viewpoint of the client, the consultant, main contractors and funding bodies. A number of case studies will illustrate real world experiences, good and bad, relating to a range of technically challenging projects. The speakers are experienced, seasoned professionals drawn from across the sector. This programme has been developed in response to demand from the sector and is an opportunity for interested parties to consider how this often difficult but important issue can be moved forward.
