Developing Technical Tendering Specifications for Large Technology
    and Cultural Objects
UKIC Metals Section Conference
Wednesday 16th March 2005
Science Museum, London

The conference will create a much needed opportunity to discuss and
debate the development of technical specifications for tendering
purposes when dealing with large technology and other cultural
objects. This topic will be of particular interest to commissioners
and contractors who are involved in developing or responding to
technical specifications. Interested parties include conservators,
architects, quantity surveyors, museums managers and project

The programme will include presentations that illustrate the
viewpoint of the client, the consultant, main contractors and
funding bodies. A number of case studies will illustrate real world
experiences, good and bad, relating to a range of technically
challenging projects. The speakers are experienced, seasoned
professionals drawn from across the sector. This programme has been
developed in response to demand from the sector and is an
opportunity for interested parties to consider how this often
difficult but important issue can be moved forward.
