Course on conservation of plasterwork

"Conservation and Repair of Decorative Plasterwork

January 10-13, 2005

This workshop is directed at professional plasterers and will
provide an opportunity for them to learn the techniques of repair
and replication of traditional internal and external lime based
plaster.

Practical exercises will be directed towards repair, conservation
and replication of both plain and moulded materials.  For in situ
work, methods of securing and stabilising failing plaster by
supporting, pinning, refixing and grouting will be explained,
demonstrated and practised, together with techniques of cleaning and
consolidation.  Harling, pargeting moulding and cornice work as
applied to walls windows and pediments will be demonstrated."
