Preventive Conservator (Trainee) Collection Care and Conservation Service Oxford University Library Services Salary: Academic Related 1-2 Starting salary will be within AR1 UKP 19,460 - UKP 21,640 p.a. Following achievement of PACR accreditation the post-holder will progress to AR2 UKP 22,507 - 29,128 p.a. The OULS Collection Care and Conservation Service has a vacancy for a trainee Preventive Conservator. The post-holder will be one of several Conservators responsible for the planning and implementation of conservation and care projects for the 40 OULS library sites and collections. In addition to contributing to a wide range of collection care activities, this post has special responsibility for researching, developing, implementing and providing advice on the production and use of specialist archival mounts, supports, boxes and other packaging for library materials and heritage items. Applicants are expected to hold a post-graduate level professional conservation-related qualification, or a graduate level qualification including work-based post-entry training and development. Relevant experience of implementing conservation or preservation work in a library, archive or similar setting will be advantageous. As a trainee, the post-holder will work towards PACR accreditation. Professional development, including supervisory training, will be provided with support from a mentor and will be directed through a personal development plan.
