Professional Conservators in Practice 13-18 February 2005 Introduction to Conservation for air and land transport collections Course Leader: Chris Knapp, Imperial War Museum, Duxford This course brings together current thinking on management, treatment methods, documentation and the consideration of ethics, for conservators and engineers working with transport collections. The five day workshop concentrates on the role of the conservator, looking at the different treatments and materials encountered, handling, storage, display, environmental monitoring, and accessing information. Fully residential fee: UKP675 1-4 March 2005 Art and object handling Course Leaders: Bruce McAllister and Mani Bermejo A comprehensive, practical course offering guidance and practice in established methods for the handling, packing, storage and display of paintings and sculpture. A day on transport and packing is followed by picture and sculpture handling and display in a gallery mock-up.
