Training school on synchrotron analysis of ancient materials

The Synchrotron SOLEIL will organize the first COST G8 training
school on the synchrotron analysis of ancient materials from the
14th to the 18th of December 2004 in Saint-Aubin (Paris region,
France).

The school will aim at providing scientists working on the analysis
of ancient artifacts with an in-depth presentation of the new
possibilities offered by synchrotron radiation techniques. The
program will include:

    *   lectures on the current challenges regarding the study of
        ancient metals, ancient pigments and organic materials and

    *   courses focussed on synchrotron techniques

    *   case studies, visits and tutorials to combine these two
        approaches.
