Aircraft Maintenance Manager Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum The Intrepid Sea Air Space Museum is looking for an Aircraft Maintenance Manager to manage and oversee the maintenance, preservation, and care of the Museum's aircraft collection, including preventive and corrective maintenance, quality assurance, risk management, and the management of personnel, vendors, and contractors involved in the maintenance, preservation, movement, and other operations relating to the Museum's aircraft collection. This hands-on position will participate in aircraft conservation and painting as well performing supervision, management, and planning. The Museum is located on board the former aircraft carrier Intrepid on the west side of New York City. The aircraft collection consists of retired, non-flying aircraft on display on the hanger deck and flight deck that require conservation and protection from the elements. Applicants should have a degree in Engineering/Conservation or a related field or equivalent experience. Must have 3+ years of experience in maintenance and care of aircraft; 1+ years of experience with metallurgy and materials preservation (especially dealing with corrosion) in a marine environment; and 1+ years of experience with quality assurance, operational risk management, and preventive and corrective maintenance management in a military, museum, aviation or marine environment. Strong project management, critical thinking, problem-solving, and leadership skills and proficient computer knowledge.
