>From the Maryland Historical Society "Revolutionary Examination of
the Decorative Arts by Sumpter Priddy.  He examines the concept of
"fancy" in the literary and philosophical minds of the 18th and
early 19th century. His fresh look at the decorative arts provides
unique insight into the intellectual and material life of Americans,
and causes a signficant reappraisal of the 20th century concept of
folk art".
