Subject: Call for papers--AIC Architecture Specialty Group
Abstracts for papers to be presented at the Architecture Specialty Group (ASG) session of the AIC Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, Minnesota are due on October 18, 2004. The call for papers is open to AIC/ASG members and non-members, as well as architecturally relevant projects from conservation peers in the Objects, Wooden Artifacts, and Paintings fields. The topic for the AIC General Session is "Documentation Dilemma: Managing Conservation Data in the 21st Century." We would like to organize an interdisciplinary ASG session that focuses on the documentation process for the conservation of monuments, heritage sites, objects and other works of art. ASG welcomes submissions on various aspects related to documentation: * The history of conservation documentation * The legal and ethical issues of documentation * The management of the documentation process including execution, storage, and access * The mechanics of documentation, and the effective use of documentation in conservation planning and the assessment of previous treatments.
