CAP assessors, do you know an institution that's made great strides
in its collections care? Nominate it for the 2005 Outstanding
Commitment to the Preservation and Care of Collections award.

The award is given by the American Institute for Conservation of
Historic and Artistic Works and Heritage Preservation to honor
organizations that have shown an exemplary commitment to
conservation and collections care. The award committee is eager to
recognize smaller institutions as well as large ones; recipients in
previous years have included Toronto's Bata Shoe Museum, the Alden
B. Dow Home and Studio in Midland, Michigan, and the Sam Noble
Oklahoma Museum of Natural History.

To nominate an institution, describe conservation and preservation
activities that demonstrate its commitment to collections care.
Visual documentation (photos, slides, etc.) is also encouraged.
Describing how the organization has broadened its community's
understanding of the goals of conservation can also help.
Organizations can also nominate themselves, but additional letters
of support are welcomed. For more information nominations
guidelines and a list of previous recipients, visit

Awards.

Nominations must be postmarked by November 15, 2004, and should be
sent to:
