Powerful Presentations

    This course will be run for West Dean by Tim Lyon and Ken Norman
    of New Tricks Training, who specialize in helping people improve
    their communication and presentation skills. They have delivered
    training to heritage organizations and on this occasion will run
    the course for conservators wishing to acquire confidence in
    teaching or giving presentations. Participants will work on the
    practical skills involved in delivering a presentation, in a
    relaxed and inspiring atmosphere.

The Conservation of Archaeological Ceramics

    We are pleased to offer places to outside participants on Pat
    Jackson's annual course for students on West Dean's Postgraduate
    Ceramic Conservation Diploma programme. The course offers the
    chance to look at techniques for excavation, cleaning, marking
    and reporting, as well as making and pit-firing a clay pot.
    Included is a visit to the Archaeological Unit at Southampton
    University.
