Subject: Position at Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory
Archaeological Conservator Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory An experienced archaeological conservator is required for working on historic and archaeological dry and waterlogged artifacts. Examples of objects are wood planks and other organics, iron hardware, concretions and other objects, copper alloy objects, and composite objects. The conservator will supervise volunteers and interns who assist on these projects. The conservator must abide by the American Institute for Conservation Code of Ethics and comply with Federal and state health and safety rules and regulations. This is a one year position funded through a Federal/State partnership. Advanced degree in Conservation required, and two years experience with archaeological materials. Applicant may substitute additional experience for the required education at the rate of two years of relevant experience for one year of education for a maximum of two years. This is a full-time, forty hour week, State of Maryland contract position. There are no benefits. Salary: $15.06/hour.
