Brodie castle, near Inverness
Project Conservator

Fixed-term to 30 April 2005

Brodie Castle, about 25 miles east of Inverness is a stunning

castle and estate which are open to the public.

The Project Conservator will be responsible for the inventory and
condition assessment of the collection and historic interiors,
before supervising their protection in situ or packing and removal
during renovation work. S/he will coordinate the remedial
conservation of objects using private conservators, before assisting
with the reinstatement of the collection and interior at the end of
the project.

You will have a degree or qualification in conservation plus sound
experience in a country-house/museum environment, including
integrated pest management and environmental monitoring. You will be
an able project manager, juggling financial and administrative tasks
with hands-on collections care work, and able to communicate
effectively with specialists, contractors, staff, volunteers and the
public. Closing date for applications: 20th September 2004. Likely
interview date: 1st October 2004 at Brodie.
