Tate's Paper Conservation Section provides services to all Tate
programmes. As a Technician your duties will include framing,
mounting, housing and supporting art works on paper including
constructing new bespoke frames as well as repairing and modifying
existing ones. The fixed-term post will focus on preparing a
collection of 400 Ken Tyler Bequest prints for exhibition. You must
have practical experience of frame making, picture framing and
mounting as well as experience in using hand and power tools and
woodwork machinery. Knowledge and experience of conservation
standards particularly in relation to handling valuable works on
paper, is also essential. You should be able to prioritise a varied
workload and work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines. A
craft related qualification and previous experience of working with
a museum or gallery collection would be advantageous. For an
