In the Loupe: The Art and Science of Conservation Smith College Museum of Art Saturday, October 2, 2004 An all-day symposium exploring current art conservation and related research into artists' materials and techniques will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at the Smith College Museum of Art, Northampton, MA. Art in various media, from the past and the present, will be discussed. The symposium is the fourth in a series highlighting various careers in the arts and will be of interest to both specialists and generalists. Speakers include: Carol C. Mancusi-Ungaro, Whitney Museum and The Center for the Technical Study of Modern Art, Harvard University; Kate Smith Maurer, Straus Center for Conservation; Roy Perkinson, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; Dr. Narayan Khandekar, Straus Center for Conservation; Abigail Quandt, The Walters Art Museum; Katherine A.
