The Collection Care and Conservation Service of Oxford University
Library Services is seeking a Conservator to undertake a one-year
project to develop an emergency control plan for the Bodleian
Library and to identify outline plans for OULS-wide response and
recovery support.

This is an opportunity for a conservator seeking to develop
experience in an area of significance importance for the care of
collections and may be of interest to a person hoping to specialise
in preventive conservation. There is the possibility that the
post-holder will be transferred to a permanent post at the end of
the project period.

Applicants are expected to have gained a post-graduate or graduate
qualification or equivalent training in the preservation or
conservation of heritage collections and to have work experience in
a conservation environment.  Knowledge and experience of the library
or archive world are advantageous but not essential.  Successful
experience of developing, or assisting the development of disaster
plans will be an important feature, as will be a track-record of
delivering project work and meeting deadlines and objectives.
Experience of training others or designing training programmes will
be beneficial.
